A couple updates from the Studio

The Monday 9 AM level 1 mat class is being cancelled.  A reminder that the Amrit Yoga class is starting this Friday 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Here is a link to information on     the class and the instructor and a link to our community partners page with more information on Priti Chanda Klco.  If you would like to join Chanda on facebook here is her facebook page www.facebook.com/chandarklco .   Our studio is certainly the busy place with the free stretching class offered at noon on Thursdays, our TRX boot camp and Stretching for Stiffies and Tai Chi class on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 2:00 PM, we hope you are finding options that suit your needs.  With spring on its way and more outdoor activities coming, now is great time to start getting ready with either some private one on one sessions with one of our instructors, an equipment or mat class or a combination of both.  Talk with our instructors to find the right combination for you!  As we all know the maximum benefits from any exercise is to keep doing it, vary what you do and how you do it and always include stretching into that routine. True strength comes from body, mind and spirit all in balance and as we always say "Breath, Muscle, Move".  With such an amazing assortment of classes you will be strong, balanced and ready to shine your light.

Stretching for Stiffies and Tai Chi for the Young at Heart

THIS CLASS IS TEMPORARILY CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!

If you want a place to begin, this class is for you.  Starting next week, the week of January 8th, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 2 pm, this is an easy, fun and addictive class!  It is focused on gentleness to the body: safe and proper positioning; feeling and sensing movement; release of tension and building a foundation of health and wellness.

The class is for everyone although the "beginner" or "older" individual will benefit from the individual attention.  The program is a unique combination of Yoga and Tai Chi.  Using Iyengar and Kripalu yoga with movement that is slow, allowing you to feel where tension is and releasing it.  Taking movement and the breath to these spots, blockages and pain will be release.  You will learn to get in touch with your body, feel where the tension and pain is then learned to take your breath to that spot. Relaxation is the goal.

The instructor Grace L. Russell (ICMT, HHP) is a certified Massage Therapist and Tai Chi Master.

Cost is just $6 per class or $50 for a 10 class punch pass.

New Free Stretching Class Added

The Pilates Studio is offering a free stretch class on Thursdays at 12 noon to 1:00pm at The Pilates Studio.  Taught by Melissa Lee Sobal with total body stretching with an emphasis on back care!  For more information or to sign up call The Pilates Studio at 539-4210! We all know the benefits of stretching and how good it is for our body's, endurance and overall structure.  A great exercise program includes stretching. The benefits of stretching are numerous. Increased circulation, improved balance, flexibility, and coordination keep the body lithe and supple. The ability to move the joints in a full range of motion gains importance with age. Stretching promotes range of motion that is needed in everyday life.Adding stretching to the exercise routine gives the body a chance to expand and contract not only the muscles, but the level of stress that is released. If for no other reason, incorporate stretches into your workout because it feels good to release tension in the muscles.
