For those fortunate enough to have access to both of the above ingredients, here's an easy dinner that can be on the table in 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 425.  While it's heating, trim the tough ends from the scapes and then spread on baking sheet with asparagus spears.  Drizzle lightly with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper and toss.  Spread out on sheet and roast for 15 minutes, tossing them halfway through.


(What's a scape? It's the bloom stalk on hardneck garlic - typically gardeners will trim it off so that the plant's energy goes into the bulb.  When roasted, they are meaty, mildly garlicy and a treat).
